Fish Research

This weekend I went with my brother Zach and Eric to help them with their research project. They help Dr. Shiozawa collect brook trout and cuttroat trout. They are studying how the native cutthroat trout is being replaced by the brook trout. They fly fish to do these collections, and sometimes they use an electro-fisher like we did this weekend. We collected 50 brook trout at the Bunker Creek near Panguitch. I had a lot of fun. I was in charge of carrying the eqipment, holding the fish, and keeping count of the fish. Zach, Eric, and I had a blast on this one day adventure. Eric and I signed up for the fly fishing class next semester. We are really excited about that... plus, our T.A. for the class will be ZACH!

It was fun to see the fishing lab where Zach and Eric work. I got to hold and feed there turtle!
